Recently I came across a pair of Nike Air Max Motion 2 in one my favorite colorways and I know it was the time to review its features . Released at the beginning of 2019 this is a modern shoe that uses the latest technology from Nike without breaking the bank. There isn’t much hype around it but it’s becoming more and more popular as the brand releases new colorways. It’s a great alternative to the Nike Air Max Torch , one from the same category of Air Max shoes under $100. The first model from the series was the LW , followed by the Motion Racer.
The Nike Air Max Motion 2 is designed, like many others from the brand , as a versatile athletic shoe to be worn casually, at the gym or running. The casual sneaker label seems to be best as these as they are very comfortable but they do not deliver optimal arch support during training. It combines design elements from several hi end sneakers into a new one at a more affordable price.
Upper
The upper of the Nike Air Max Motion 2 is a mix of woven material and synthetic overlays. The breathable mesh is built to follow the natural moves with every stride. Other than the decorative seams that run along the top of the shoe the upper is seamless. This makes it a very comfortable shoe with a snug fit that feel just right with the first wear. The lacing system, inspired from the Air Max 95, is one that Nike uses frequently and adds fluidity to the upper made to fit like a sock. The wavy overlays give the sneaker a stylish look while adding support on the sides. The Nike Swoosh shows up on the sides and tongue while the AIR lettering dominates the heel area.
Sole Unit
The sole unit of the Nike Air Max Motion 2 is one that reminds us of the 270 model. The back features a U shaped visible Air Max sole , LTD style while the front is made of injected Phylon foam. The sole usually comes in two colors that separate the heel and the forefront, just as the 270 model does. The shoe also features memory insoles that add even more cushioning , making these great for all day wear. The outsole follows the upper design lines, with dual colored rubber for optimal traction.
Bottom Line
To conclude my Nike Air Max Motion 2 review, this is a great sneaker for casual wear with an appealing, modern design. It can be worn for light training as well but it will likely wear out faster this way. All in all is a great addition to the Air Max line and it seems like it will be around for a while. They come both in men’s and women’s versions with little to no difference as far as the design goes. Check out the retailers below for the latest colorways and latest deals.
