Diesel brand is well-known for making some outstanding jeans and apparel but we can say that their shoe line is slightly underrated to say the least. Even if they are fairly new in the footwear market, their stylish sneakers are becoming more and more popular, especially on the European and Asian market. One of their well-established styles is the Diesel Solar shoe, one that stays true to the brand’s overall style, with a rugged, vintage look that ultimately boosts a modern, youthful vibe.
Among the several colorways available in this year line-up we pulled the stone/ grey pair, in my opinion one of the best they ever made for this style. As with most other Diesel shoes, the Solar is built with nylon and suede upper, the same combination that in the 70’s the big footwear brands used to make their athletic shoes. The result is a vintage look branded with the Diesel lettering sewn on the sides and the logo on the heel and the forefront outsole. The upper is made to offer a snug fit, to some degree overshadowing the thin midsole. In fact, I would say that the elegance the Diesel Solar shoes has comes from this disproportion.
The midsole is made from EVA foam that we normally find in classic shoes, adding more vintage elements to its design . The two colors, orange and white makes it appear even thinner while adding to it’s dashing looks. The rubber sole offers the durability and traction you’d expect from a quality shoe. It is safe to say that if you’re looking for added support for your feet, the Diesel Solar shoes may not be for you; it is more of a fashion sneaker, one that you would wear to compliment your jeans or maybe your metro look in general.
So if you want to rock some cool looks and don’t want to rely on some classic sneakers, the Diesel Solar shoes are a good alternative to consider, one that will likely set you apart from the rest.
